The beaches located in Bocagrande have been chosen as the place to develop the pilot plan for the management of national touristic places, which is to provide more security and social inclusion.
The project includes access for disabled people, cabins for the rescue team, a prehospital care center and signaling, making the place more accessible to people in wheel chairs who had to be carried in order to get close to the sea.
José Ricaurte, Director of Distriseguridad said that more than 6.3 million pesos have been invested in this pilot trial. “This is a pioneer project not only in the Caribbean Region but in the whole country”, as he explained.
The pilot plan is being funded by the National Tourism Found and it is expected to be opened to the public in a short time. The Local Government has shown interest in replicating the trial in other beaches such as Playa Blanca, where there’s a high demand of tourists.
